A thought on prayer:
"Talking to men for God is a great thing, but talking to God for men is greater still." - E.M. Bounds

After a brief hiatus for the holidays, here are the first Seed Effect prayer requests of the new year. As I’m sure you are aware, life for our clients can be very, very hard. They lack the access to medical care that we take for granted. They are often affected by illness and loss that for us would be preventable and treatable. Seed Effect is making a difference both spiritually and physically in these families, but one of the best ways we can support them is to intercede for them in prayer…. Please join us in lifting up each of these clients and their families!
Seed Effect Clients:Milton Abe of Morjita- Leikor Loan Group (2nd loan cycle) Prior to joining Seed Effect, Milton was a subsistence farmer- consuming his crops and selling the rest. But due to complications from a chronic illness, the physical labor was taking a toll on his health. So he joined a SE loan group last year, started a new business, and is now on his 2nd microloan. He has seen so much success and praises God for the impact that Seed Effect has had on his family—bringing them out of a life of struggle to one where their basic needs are now met. Please join us in praising God for this provision and please lift up his business, asking the Lord to continue to grow it to sustainability for their family! Milton also asks that we lift up his wife and their new baby. During the recent delivery, his wife suffered some severe hemorrhaging. With little access to adequate healthcare, this can be very scary. Please pray that the Lord will restore her strength and that she and the baby would be restored to health. Cosmas Lisok of Tembi Loan Group in Mere (4th loan cycle)Cosmas was in a motor accident over Christmas. Thankfully he survived, but sustained some injuries. Please pray for the Lord’s quick healing. Cosmas thanks God for protecting him from this accident and so many hardships and challenges. Even though he is struggling with his injuries, he wants to praise God for the way that He has used Seed Effect to grow his business, enabling him to already buy a new motorbike. Let’s praise God both for his provision and for Cosmas’ ability to trust and praise the Lord in such a difficult time. Charity Nyarsuk of Morokita- Gederu Loan Group (2nd loan cycle) Charity is responsible for supporting her family, many of whom are struggling with chronic illness. One of her brothers recently passed away and her other brother has deserted his family, leaving her to provide for all of their children. Additionally, her kids and her mother have both recently been very sick, and she finds that all of this responsibility disrupts her business. She shared with our staff that she feels so burdened by this weight. Please pray that Charity would come to know Christ and would be encouraged to cast all of these anxieties upon Him, trusting the Lord for His wisdom and provision. Pray for healing for her family and please also pray for our staff as they shepherd Charity, encouraging her with the truth of His word.
Rose Jurua of Durujo Loan Group in Wudu (5th loan cycle)
Please pray for Rose. Suspicions of infidelity, abusive outbursts and retaliations, and total despair are rocking her marriage and family. Please lift up her marriage, asking that the Lord would restore it, repair it, and bring Himself the utmost glory in the midst of it.
